What is included in you coffee vending machine warranty

Once you have decided to purchase or rent your coffee vending machine do you know what is really included in your warranty?  It is worth asking this question as there are a number of our competitors that do not include a great many things in their warranty.

Firstly is the warranty a return to base warranty?  If it is then when your office coffee machine goes wrong you will have to drain it off, pack it up, and send it back to the supplier for repair.  This is a big hassle, can lead to extra damage to the machine (that will almost certainly not be covered in a warranty) and leave you without the machine for a week or two.  All of our warranties are on site warranties.  This means that if your office coffee machine goes wrong we will visit you premises in order to fix it.  Our technicians carry spares so often the repair is a first time one.

Secondly, if you purchased your coffee vending machine from a site such as EBay does it have a warranty at all?  If it doesn’t and it goes wrong the repair bill can run into many hundreds of pounds.  All equipment supplied by Kenco Local Business Service comes with a warranty as standard.

If you are happy that you do have service cover and that it is on site cover you need to ascertain exactly what is included.  Sometimes an office coffee machine may only come with parts cover.  In other words if it goes wrong and needs a repair you will have to pay any labour charges.  We know from experience that the labour charges are most likely to be more than the cost of the parts used.

Also you may want to consider what level of flexibility your supplier can offer you.  At Kenco Local Business Service we accept that owning and running an office coffee machine, particularly a bean to cup one, is a learning process.  Technically a fault caused by a lack of cleaning is not covered by any warranty.  That said we operate a yellow card system where we will normally allow you one fault that may have been caused by lack of cleaning without charging you.  We will charge you if it becomes a regular occurrence however.  In order to avoid this we will always recommend extra training for your staff which we are happy to provide.  Many companies will simply charge you the first time that you have a problem and will continue to charge you every time that it happens.

Another very pertinent point to consider is whether your machine provider has their own technicians or whether they outsource this part of their business.  We have our own technical team and as such if you have a fault with your machine you are most likely to be attended by one of our own employees.  This allows us to maintain a higher level of service and accountability.  It also allows us to keep our warranty charges to a minimum.

Many of these potential problems can be avoided by proper staff training and the correct setting up of the coffee machine.  Both of these are provided as a matter of course by Kenco Local Business Service.

I believe that all of this proves it isn’t just about finding the cheapest coffee machine that you can.  There is so much to consider on the after sales side of things.  The cheapest deal up front can often end up costing you a lot more in the long run.  If you are looking to lease or rent a coffee machine then please call the office and we will be delighted to run through all of the options available to you.
